Glasses replaced for more than 100 Cantabrians
More than one hundred Cantabrians affected by the recent earthquake have had their prescription glasses replaced for free thanks to the OneSight Foundation.
Following the devastating Christchurch earthquake on February 22, Luxottica charity OneSight Foundation offered to provide any individual or family directly affected by the earthquake with a free replacement of their damaged or lost prescription glasses or contact lenses.
To date 100 people are seeing better again, but the company is urging those still affected by eyesight problems to come forward.
"We are glad to do our bit to help Cantabrians through this difficult time," says Luxottica Chief Executive Officer Chris Beer. "We want the community to know that through the OneSight Foundation the offer for free replacement glasses is still available from our OPSM and Budget Eyewear stores.
“We invite those people displaced by the earthquake to visit any OPSM or Budget Eyewear store nationwide to replace their eyewear, or call 0800 696 776 (OPSM) or 0800 283 393 (Budget Eyewear) for more information.”
For customers based in the Christchurch area, OPSM stores in Hornby, Riccarton, Papanui and Merivale are open, and Budget Eyewear in Hornby is also open. Luxottica will advise as more locations reopen.
