New World Confirms Elite Sponsorship of Netball New Zealand and the Silver Ferns

New World is delighted to announce that it will be continuing its elite sponsorship of Netball New Zealand and the Silver Ferns. Foodstuffs NZ Managing Director Steve Anderson has just signed the new sponsorship agreement with Netball New Zealand, ensuring that New World will be supporting the Silver Ferns until at least 2013.

Netball New Zealand Chief Executive Raelene Castle says Netball New Zealand is very pleased to renew the partnership with New World. “We’ve enjoyed a successful relationship with the team from New World over the last three years and to know we have their ongoing support is a fantastic result for both Netball in New Zealand and the Silver Ferns,” she said.

As a 100 percent locally owned New Zealand supermarket, New World takes pride in its involvement with Netball New Zealand. The partnership has been incredibly successful to date and New World looks forward to working closely with Netball New Zealand and the Silver Ferns to deliver a great sporting programme to all the netball fans across the country.

Anderson says, “As Kiwis, netball holds a special place in the hearts of our staff and customers alike. Many of our 132 New World stores support their local netball centres and teams, so to support our national side is the right fit for the brand. Our stores are an integral part of the communities in which they operate, as is often the case with the local netball centres.”

“At New World we like to do things a bit differently, so we are encouraging New World customers and netball fans to keep an eye out for the exciting activities we have planned throughout the 2011 netball season,” said Anderson.

There will be a number of activities and competitions both in store and online at newworld.co.nz and facebook.com/newworld, along with opportunities for netball fans to support their favourite Silver Ferns and meet them in person.

New World supermarkets, their owners and staff are an integral part of the communities in which they operate, and supporting the Silver Ferns is an extension of this commitment. 2011 is going to be a huge year for the Silver Ferns, and New World will be behind them every step of the way as they take on the world.
