Rotorua Winner Will Be In Raptures After Winning $10.6 Million

A player who bought a Lotto Powerball ticket from Rotorua will be in raptures after winning $10.6 million and becoming New Zealand’s next multi-millionaire, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

“It’s only a few weeks on from our record breaking Must Be Won Powerball jackpot – that saw two players split the big prize and take home $17.7 million each. This latest win shows the big jackpot can go in any week!” says Mr McLeay.

The ticket was sold at Countdown Rotorua and has won a prize of $10,632,434 made up of $10,132,434 from Powerball First Division plus $500,000 from their share of Lotto First Division.

The other winning Lotto ticket was sold at Paper Plus Kaitaia, giving the winners a $500,000 share of First Division.

Strike Four was not struck tonight, meaning it’s jackpotted to an estimated $900,000.

Meanwhile at Avalon Studios in Wellington, Viv from Auckland spun and won $150,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live draw.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Saturday’s Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Pak N Save in Lower Hutt. The serial number is 089-60239112-20xx.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet.
