The first Food Day Appeal for the year will be held this Saturday 11 June.
Downtown Community Ministry (DCM) will have volunteers at Newtown New World, City New World and Metro on Willis New World from 9am.
“The Food Day Appeal is a really important day for us. We need as much food as possible to get us through winter,” says Jennifer Stewart, communications and events coordinator at DCM.
“People are really generous at these appeals, and it also raises awareness about the work we do at DCM.”
The Food Day Appeal is run by the Wellington Foodbank Coalition, in association with Newstalk ZB. It is a bi-annual event, with the second appeal being held in November.
