Christchurch Airport Update
Christchurch Airport Update
Christchurch Airport is open and operational with domestic and international flights having resumed. Most domestic flights have been delayed due to the earthquakes experienced in Christchurch, with Air New Zealand staff working hard to clear the backlog of passengers.
Emirates flight 418 from Sydney, Bangkok and Dubai has been delayed for 4 hours and is now due to arrive in Christchurch at 6.45pm.
All Qantas and Jetstar flights for the day were cancelled early this morning because of ash in the atmosphere from the volcanic eruption in Chile. They will review the situation late tonight.
Passengers are asked to check with their airlines before coming to the airport.
