Update from Christchurch Airport
Update from Christchurch Airport
Following a snowstorm and severe ice overnight, Christchurch Airport is gradually returning to normal operations.
All international flights are now operating on a normal schedule.
The domestic jet gates are all open, and many domestic flights are operating.
Airport staff are now working to remove ice from around the regional gates.
It's expected that flight operations will be back to normal by the end of the afternoon.
Travellers are asked to check with their airlines before coming to the airport. Roads in Christchurch are icy, so motorists are advised to take extreme care.
