Service damage report as at 2.15pm:

Power lines down and on fire across driveways in Wairau
Avenue
• Power lines down onto a house in
Canal Road
• A tree has brought down power
lines in Riversdale Road
• A house was struck
by lightning in Ash Street
• At least 2 houses
have sustained damage in Canal Road (roof damage)

At least 2 houses have sustained damage in Riversdale Road
(roof damage)
• One home in Avondale Road has
sustained damage in Riversdale Road (roof damage)
•
At least 3 houses have sustained damage in Orchard Street
(roof damage)
• In Kiritoa Street - fence and
trees down
• Taramea Street - window smashed
A Fire Service Incident Command Unit has now been established at intersection of Wairau Avenue and Ash Street.
Wairau Avenue has now been closed.
The Fire Service now estimate the damage has extended across a path approximately 1km wide.
UPDATE
Damage has just been reported
to have occurred in Jaemont Avenue, Te Atatu - this would
suggest that the tornado has crossed the Whau River and
struck Te Atatu South.
