Convention: Will God’s Kingdom Come?
Convention Release September 11, 2011
Will God’s Kingdom Come?
AUCKLAND – Telstra Clear Events Centre Manukau - A peak attendance of 3,454 were present at a convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses this weekend, assured more than ever of God’s promise that YES, his Kingdom indeed will come!
Jehovah’s Witnesses organize District Conventions annually. Members of the public are welcome to gather with them and hear Bible discourses that encourage and reassure them of God’s interest in each one of us and his purpose to resolve all of mankind’s woes. By what means will he resolve mankind’s problems? By means of God’s Kingdom – his heavenly government ruled by his son Jesus Christ.
This year’s theme is based on the scriptural request found in Matthew 6:10: “Let God’s Kingdom Come!” Bible based talks throughout the weekend helped the audience come to appreciate that:
God’s Kingdom will soon come
God’s Kingdom is a real government ruled by Jesus
It has subjects in all parts of the earth
It will prevent humans from ruining this earth
It will crush all other governments and will remain as the sole government that will fulfil mankind’s needs.
It will bring about paradisaic conditions for its righteous subjects, the opportunity to live forever on that paradise earth and to see their dead loved ones again.
Bible based and real life dramas added flavour and highlighted lessons in loyalty, for family life and how to act with discretion. Any and all are welcome to examine for themselves the benefits this kingdom can bring them.
If any wish to learn more about this Kingdom or have any Bible questions answered, please do not hesitate to contact any local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses or simply write to the address listed at the bottom of this page. All Bible lessons are without charge and held at a time and place convenient to you.
