Have you ever seen a joystick
orchestra? Well here’s your chance! As part of the
festivities for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, joystick
orchestra, NOP.nz managed by Frenchwoman Nolwenn Hugain,
will perform one concert only in Wellington on the 30 of
September alongside French music group PUCE MUSE in Te
Papa’s Soundings Theatre. Don’t miss this explosive
audio and visual experience!
This group will be made
up entirely of Wellington artists and musical enthusiasts
who have shown their interest in being part of a truly
unique experience! The locals will use a multimedia device
connected to joysticks to create music.
The aim of
NOP.nz, a French-New Zealand cultural project, is to
experiment with innovative orchestral practises. The
initiative was created with the view of bringing together
different people, musicians or amateurs, of any age or skill
level, to perform French audio and visual compositions in
order to encourage exchange and dialogue between people of
the two cultures.
