Power outage in north-eastern Christchurch
Power was cut to approximately 5,000 customers in the north-east of Christchurch at 10pm tonight, after electricity supply to the Dallington substation failed. Affected areas include parts of Dallington, Shirley, Burwood and Parklands.
"Our teams are investigating the cause of the outage, including patrolling the high voltage lines that feed power into the Dallington substation. We will provided a further update, including an estimated restoration time, as soon as possible", says Orion Chief Executive Officer, Rob Jamieson.
