Home Help phone assessments
Home Help phone assessments
"The advice that the Wellington District Health Board has decided to drop its home-help phone assessment scheme is welcomed", said Roy Reid, National President of Grey Power.
"Grey Power has been vigourously campaigning against the contraversial phone assessments since their introduction and will continue to battle this injustice in an effort to pressure all District Health Boards to follow Wellington's suit. Our older New Zealanders cannot be accurately assessed by phone call - many are simply to shy and unassuming to convey accurately their health problems over the phone. Grey Power believes visual assessment is essential to ensure older New Zealanders receive appropriate care."
