TeamVodafone get set to rock Mo's for Movember

TeamVodafone will tackle the important issues in men’s health by banding together to grow moustaches for this year’s Movember initiative.

Triple Eight Race Engineering Managing Director Roland Dane will lead the effort, joined by various other crew members including TeamVodafone #888 driver Craig Lowndes, Team Principal Adrian Burgess and lead Engineers for car #88 and #888 Mark Dutton and Jeromy Moore.

A total of 20 staff from the Brisbane-based workshop will front up clean-shaven today, kick-starting a month of mo growth to raise funds and awareness for Movember charities including the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and BeyondBlue: The National Depression Initiative.

Dane said he hoped a strong team culture at the Brisbane-based workshop would encourage many to participate.
"We're a tight-knit team and this is something we can all do together to raise money and awareness for a cause that is very relevant to the V8 Supercar fan base," said Dane.

"We're looking forward to being a part of it and will be challenging each other to see who can rally their family and friends to donate the most."
Team Principal Adrian Burgess confessed he had never grown a moustache before and said it would be quite an experience for him and his family.

“TeamVodafone never shys away from helping worthwhile charities,” said Burgess.

“When we can have a bit of fun and know that all the money raised is going to a great cause, it’s a no brainer to lend our support.

“I have never ever grown a moustache before so I have no idea what I will look like - the only downside will be no kisses from the kids for a month!”

TeamVodafone #888 pilot Craig Lowndes is prepared to stand behind his fearless leaders for such an important cause.
“I’ve supported Movember for years but this will be the first time I’ve grown a moustache for the cause,” Lowndes said.
“It will be interesting to see what I look like as I’ve never sported a Mo before but I think it’s important to support the awareness for issues that face the average man every day,” Lowndes concluded
