Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band Album Release Party
Fresh from recording their eagerly anticipated debut album, Wellington's own Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band are ready to raise the roof off The Garden Club.
"It's gonna be wild. We're bringing the sounds of the barrooms, the brothels and the backstreets of 1900s New Orleans, back for one night of hooch fuelled debauchery," said singer drummer Mike Jensen.

The band's self titled album, laid down by the legendary Lee Prebble and cut in one session "in homage to how they used to make 'em", features 12 foot stompin, tracks.
"Lee was great. He wanted to help us create an album that stayed true to ragtime's rough and raw heritage, "The result? 60 minutes of pure second line shimmies, trad jazz, blues and rock ‘n roll" said singer pianist Dayle Jellyman.
"We got songs of celebration, we got songs of loss, songs of struggle and songs of love. We got the music that feeds the soul and makes you feel good," said Dayle.

The full seven piece band are playing at The Garden Club, Wellington, on 19 November, and will be joined by a number special guest singers and musicians.
"We've been blown away at the reception the band is getting. Who would've thought Wellingtonians would be such fiends for the old school allure of liquor soaked beats, sing alongs, and the honkey tonk piano!”, said Mike.
