Minor maintenance work planned for Pekatahi Rail Bridge

Work to strengthen the deck of the Pekatahi Rail Bridge on State Highway 2 will start early next week reports the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).

The road works will be undertaken at night commencing from Monday 14 November at 7.00pm and is scheduled to finish on Friday 18 November at 6.00am.

Steel plates are being installed on the deck of the Pekatahi Rail Bridge as part of planned regular maintenance work.

The NZTA apologises for any inconvenience to motorists and we aim to keep disruption to traffic at a minimum.

This work is weather dependant, and if it is wet this closure will be moved to the next suitable day.

The NZTA thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation during these works.
