Traffic detours on Tauranga’s Harbour Link

22 November 2011

Traffic detours on Tauranga’s Harbour Link

Planned maintenance work on Tauranga’s Harbour Link will see a number of traffic detours installed over the coming weeks.

A night-time detour will be in place on the Mirrielees Road east bound on-ramp for motorists travelling from Tauranga to Mount Maunganui from either Dive Crescent or Mirrielees Road starting from 11.00pm on Wednesday 23 November, until 6.00am on Thursday 24 November.

Additional traffic detours on the Chapel Street Viaduct will be in place on Sunday 27 November and Sunday 4 December.

On Sunday 27 November from 6.00pm through until 6.00am on Monday 28 November, motorists travelling from Mount Maunganui towards Tauranga and Sulphur Point will still be able to exit at the Dive Crescent off ramp, however all other viaduct traffic will be required to exit at the Chapel Street off ramp and follow the signposted detour to continue their journey along Takitimu Drive.

The following Sunday 4 December from 6.00pm through until 6.00am on Monday 5 December, motorists travelling along Takitimu Drive towards Mount Maunganui and Sulphur Point will be required to exit at the Chapel Street off ramp and follow the sign-posted detours.

This work is weather dependant, and if it is wet this closure will be moved to Sunday 11 December.

The NZTA thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation during these works.
