Well done that 15 year old girl!
Well done that 15 year old girl!
The Girls’ Self Defence Project warmly congratulates the 15 year old Auckland schoolgirl who so bravely fought off an attempted abduction earlier today. “We are really impressed by her courageous response to this attack” said Project spokeswoman Alison Broad. “From our understanding of what happened, she did everything right. She listened to her instincts, then when grabbed fought back with great effectiveness and successfully got to safety. It appears she was also able to give a clear description of her two attackers.”
The Girls’ Self Defence Project has taught self defence to thousands of girls in the wider Auckland area over the past 15 years. “We strongly believe in the importance of women and girls in our communities being taught how to keep safe from violence and abuse” said Ms Broad.
“While it is disturbing to hear of any attacks on girls and young women, it is great when the attacks are so effectively thwarted” said Ms Broad.
