Night time detour
this Sunday near Maungatapu roundabout
Motorists are advised that a detour will be in place this coming Sunday and Monday nights while resurfacing work is being undertaken just east of the Maungatapu roundabout on SH29.
A detour through Maungatapu Road will be in place for traffic heading east towards Mount Maunganui whilst the work is untaken. Motorists heading west towards Tauriko can expect speed restrictions through the construction activity just east of the Maungatapu Roundabout.
The work will take place from about 8.00pm on Sunday 18 March, until 6.00am and again on Monday 19 March from about 8.00pm until 6.00am Tuesday 20 March, to minimise traffic disruption.
Bay of Plenty State Highway Manager, Brett Gliddon says variable message boards will be displayed to provide motorists with advanced warning of the works ahead and of the speed restrictions in place.
This work is weather dependant, and if it is wet this closure will be moved to the next fine day.
The NZTA thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation during these works.
