City Centre renewal Initiative
The City Centre renewal Initiative
The City Centre Renewal Initiative is
calling for more clarity about the future of the
Christchurch cathedral site.
The CCRI is advocating a multi-party approach to, and public participation in, the shaping of a vision for the renewal of our city centre.
The CCRI is for ensuring that the sacred nature of the Christchurch cathedral site, is retained for generations to come. The CCRI is promoting the idea of an open design competition for a multi-purpose building, which would be suitable to replace the Christchurch cathedral as the focal point of our city.
Below; a building design concept, which may be suitable for entry into such a competition.
