Free Money Management Course Arrives in Mangere
News release:
Free Money
Management Course Arrives in Mangere & Mt Eden at Life South
and Life Central are set to run CAP
Money
With
NZ households now spending $1.15 for every dollar earned,
national debt counselling charity Christians Against Poverty
(CAP) has today announced that it will be offering local
residents in Mangere and Mt Eden the chance to get their
finances on track and under control with a free money
management course called CAP
Money.
Christians Against
Poverty (CAP), a national debt counselling charity, has
equipped Life South and Life Central to run CAP Money, a
simple three-week course that teaches good money management
skills, budgeting tips and advice on how to handle money
wisely.
What will you except to learn over these 3 weeks?
Do you often ask yourself where did all your money go? Regardless of whether you're in excess or lack of money, a budget can help your manage your finances more effectively. Let CAP Money show you how...
In just 3 evenings, you will draw up your own budget and learn a money management system to help you stick to it. CAP Money gives you control of your money - you decide what you want to spend your money on and how much you want to save. CAP Money means you can plan your finances so that it adds joy to your life rather than being an overgrown mess to battle with.
During the 3 X 1.5 hour sessions, you will
learn:
1. How to build and live on a
budget. This is the cornerstone of managing your
money well. The session includes advice on how to increase
your income and how to cut costs.
2. The CAP
Money System. This system will help simplify your
money and make it understandable. It operates using three
accounts for your money; a regular account, a cash account
and a savings account.
3. How to live from week
to week using cash. Living on cash and getting
away from cards means you know exactly where you are and
helps you to spend less money. It's statistically proven
that you spend 33% less money when paying by cash rather
than cards.
By applying these three principles, you will
learn how to manage your money, and live your life!

About Christians Against
Poverty
CAP aims to show God’s love in action by
providing sustainable poverty relief through debt
counselling, advice and practical help. CAP’s unique
‘hands on’ approach empowers people to help themselves
out of poverty and be released from the fear, oppression and
worry generated by overwhelming debts. Vital financial and
budgeting life skills are developed through our services,
thus ensuring poverty relief is sustainable.
The charity operates through a growing network of centres based around the New Zealand, all opened in partnership with a local church. Over the last thirteen years, the charity has grown from one man working from his home with a donation of £10 in Bradford, to a national charity with 130 centres across the UK. It has now come to New Zealand, is operating as its own Charity here and since March 2008 has and is helping over 210 families out of poverty caused by unmanageable debt working through 7 CAP Centres currently.
CAP’s vision is
to answer the national problem of debt in the New Zealand by
having at least one CAP centre operating in every major
suburb, town and city over the next 5 years.
