NZTA Traffic Advisory - SH2 temporarily closed following crash - June 15 2012
A section of State Highway 2 near Mangatawhiri has been temporarily closed following a crash earlier this afternoon.
State Highway Manager, Kaye Clark, says that at this stage it likely the road will reopen between 5.00-6.00 pm.
“In the meantime there are clearly signed detours in place. Motorists should allow extra time travelling through this section of SH2 – the detours will add around another half hour to their travel times.”
"We will be working with police to have access through this section of SH2 as quickly as we can to minimise disruption to traffic. We'd like to ask that motorists be patient during this time, take note of the signage and traffic controls in place and plan their journeys around this situation to allow for delays."
