Press Release – Monday, 2 July 2012

Bus Service Interruptions on Thursday 5 July 2012

NZ Bus wish to advise customers to plan their journeys carefully on Thursday, 5 July as bus services provided by North Star, GO WEST, Metrolink, City Link, Outer Link and Waka Pacific will not run between 9:00am and 2:30pm due to a scheduled union meeting of NZ bus drivers.

The Auckland Tramways Union and First Union represent the majority of NZ Bus drivers in Auckland and have called a meeting of all members on Thursday 5 July to ratify terms within a new Collective Employment Agreement.

As a result of this union meeting, all North Star, GO WEST, Metrolink, City Link, Outer Link and Waka Pacific bus services will be suspended between 9:00am and 2:30pm. This means no buses operated by NZ Bus except Inner Link will run between 9:00am and 2:30pm on Thursday 5 July. All NZ Bus services prior to 9:00am and after 2:30pm will run to schedule. The Inner Link service will not be affected and will run to schedule all day.

Bus services operated by Ritchies Transport, Howick & Eastern, Birkenhead Transport, Urban Express Waiheke Buses the Northern Express and Airbus services are not affected.

NZ Bus wish to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.
