An
Afternoon “Tégustation” With Dilmah And The
Langham
(Auckland – 26 July
2012)
For thousands
of years, ancient cultures have infused tea’s aromatic
flavours into food, and people have enjoyed tea alongside
their daily meal. This is a well understood concept and we
are now seeing a revival of this natural match in
contemporary cuisine. The texture, weight and flavours
between food and tea must complement or enhance; so too must
the quality, for which The Langham provides all the
essential ingredients to highlight this world of exquisite
taste at its best.
The relationship between Dilmah and The Langham is through a shared goal of providing an exceptional food and beverage experience. With The Langham, Auckland’s Executive Chef Volker Marecek and Tea Sommelier Benjamin McManus recently joining Dilmah at their School of Tea in Sri Lanka, they will showcase the fascinating world of Tea and Gastronomy at an afternoon “Tégustation” event on Thursday 16th August. Enjoy a tantalising selection of sweet and savoury dishes, each accompanied by a carefully selected tea.
This event is a great opportunity to draw awareness to quite how important tea and gastronomy is to The Langham, and to why Dilmah are proud to be a partner on such an exciting journey.
Tégustation is a new concept for The Langham and Dilmah, exploring the rapidly rising trend in using tea not only as a complimenting beverage with a meal, but as a culinary ingredient.
Listen as Chef Volker shares how tea inspired him to create his special dishes, while Tea Sommelier, Benjamin will guide diners through the menu, explaining why each tea was selected. Along with some parting tips from Dilmah’s tea expert, guests will take home a handmade silk gift box filled with an assortment of tea samples, a porcelain loose leaf tea scoop and a $20 gift voucher for Exceptional Teas from the Dilmah Shop.
Don’t miss out on this event - join Dilmah and The Langham for a sensory journey, from high peaks to depth of flavour and back again.
