Mt Tongariro Update: Christchurch Airport - 8.45 Tuesday
Christchurch Airport - 8.45
Tuesday
Good morning
The Mount Tongariro
explosion does not seem to be having much of an impact on
Christchurch Airport at this stage, but we continue to
monitor the situation.
Flights between the major centres are coming and going to schedule.
We assisted with a diverted flight about 5am. A flight from Melbourne to Auckland came here instead, but its passengers have since been re-scheduled on domestic flights out of Christchurch.
Napier Airport is closed, so any flights to and from it are currently cancelled.
As always, we advise any travellers to check with their airline and our website if they have any concerns.
