Steve Keen will present Free Public Lecture on Economics
Steve Keen will present an early evening public lecture this Friday 7th September. It will be at 6pm in the Owen G Glenn Building at the University of Auckland. Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Western Sydney, author of Debunking Economics, Keen will provide an overview of conventional economic theory, briefly cover its short-comings in dealing with the current financial crisis, and will present alternative economic models, including the work of Hyman Minsky.
He will bring his discussion of the global economy right up to the present, and also take a look at issues in New Zealand, including the housing market, private debt levels and asset ownership.
This is a free talk and all are welcome to attend.
