Crash, Tahuna Rd, Ohinewai

Ambulance was called out to Ohinewai this morning, to the
scene of a 2-vehicle crash on Tahuna Road, east of SH1.
Three men were pulled over to the side of the road, adjusting the load of timber on the trailer they were towing, when a ute carrying four or five passengers struck their trailer from behind.
The ute was travelling east into the rising sun and had limited visibility as a consequence. A Hamilton man, in his 50’s was flown to Waikato Hospital with a fractured pelvis and multiple other injuries.
Several other patients, including two children,
were transported to hospital by road
ambulance.
