Trail rider flown to hospital
Friday 2 June 4.40pm.
This afternoon the Tauranga based TrustPower TECT rescue helicopter was called out the Matahina forest where a 44 year old Rotorua man was taking part in a organised trail ride. The man fell from his bike while coming down a hill, receiving rib and shoulder injuries as a result. He was treated at the scene by St John ambulance staff before being flown to Rotorua hospital for further treatment. His condition was described as moderate.
