Know Korea – Food, Facts, K-Pop and Fun

On Saturday 22 June at the Wellington Korean Community Hall a special Know Korea event is being organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Wellington. Know Korea will commence with a free lunch from 1:00pm for participants and the audience followed by the New Zealand final of the 2013 Quiz on Korea at 2:00pm where eight finalists from Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington will be quizzed on facts about Korea. They are competing for a chance to represent New Zealand at the final in Korea.

K-Pop continues to grow in popularity in New Zealand and from 3:00pm there will be a K-Pop contest. There are prizes for all participants, and the two top teams will have a chance at being selected to compete in the K-Pop World Festival held in Seoul, Korea. To apply to enter send an application with your team name and contact details to info-nz@mofa.go.kr by Sunday 16 June 2013.

From 4:00pm there will be a fun pop quiz with lots of prizes just waiting to be claimed as well as a special raffle. Know Korea is a special event organised by the Korean Embassy in Wellington to promote awareness of Korea and Korean culture with New Zealanders. The Embassy encourages anyone who is interested in Korea to come along and join in the festivities.
