CTC invites aspiring New Zealand airline pilots to Qatar Wings open day

Hamilton, New Zealand – CTC will run its first ‘Qatar Wings’ pilot selection event at its Hamilton Crew Training Centre later this month.

Interested applicants can attend an information day on Saturday 22nd June and will get the opportunity to hear more about the ‘Qatar Wings’ programme, which is open to New Zealanders to apply and provides the opportunity to become a pilot for Qatar Airways – a world-leading, 5-star airline.

On 10 June CTC Aviation announced Qatar Airways has chosen the world-leading airline training organisation to select and train the airline’s future pilots through a new Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training programme open to international applicants – including New Zealanders.

About Qatar Wings
• ‘Qatar Wing’s provides an opportunity for six trainees to begin their initial flight training with CTC every two months for the foreseeable future.
• ‘Qatar Wings’ courses will originate at either CTC’s Crew Training Centre in New Zealand or their simulator centre in the United Kingdom.
• Applicants need no previous flying experience but will be required to demonstrate motivation, aptitude and interpersonal skills to a very high standard.
• All initial flight training will take place at CTC’s New Zealand training facilities.
• ‘Qatar Wings’ cadet pilots will go on to complete their basic and intermediate training on CTC’s Airbus flight simulators in Southhampton, UK.
• Qatar Airways will provide a conditional offer of employment to successful applicants prior to training commencement and deliver the final stages of training and Line Operating Experience (LOE) at its home base in Doha, Qatar.
• Including the line operating experience phase, the programme takes approximately two years to complete.
• Those meeting the high standards expected by CTC and Qatar Airways will be offered employment as an A320 First Officer for Qatar Airways based in Doha.

This is a virtually unheard of opportunity for New Zealanders to join a Gulf airline as new entrant pilots. Qatar Airways is one of the world’s most exciting airlines and offers the chance for new pilots to forge themselves a long career within an operation that is has significant growth plans.
