Man in serious condition after crash on Taupo bypass
This morning Taupo's Greenlea Rescue helicopter was called to the Taupo bypass (Eta) where a car collided with a truck.
A northbound car crashed with a south bound truck.
A 40 year old man, the driver and sole occupant of the car was flown to Waikato Hospital.
The man who was in Serious condition and initially trapped in the vehicle, was able to be transported with a minimum time delay to higher care in Hamilton thanks to the Greenlea helicopter.
The truck driver was not injured.
Immediately prior to this crash the helicopter had attended a forestry accident near Atiamuri.
