Helicopter assists in search for elderly woman.

This evening the Tauranga based TrustPower TECT rescue helicopter was called to help search for a missing 79 woman. The Whangamata women's car was found today at Bowentown near Waihi Beach, Police and SAR initiated a search of the surrounding area, the helicopter was called to search the rugged coastline at Bowentown heads and and some of the coastline toward Waihi Beach, Matakana Is and inner harbour shoreline near Athenree. Nothing was found.
