Wellington Earthquake Update 2 New Zealand Fire
Service
Calls to the Fire Service have tailed off
following this afternoon’s earthquake and there have been
no reports of serious damage in Wellington
Crews were
called on to rescue three groups of people from lifts and
have responded to a large number of alarm
activations.
There has been some glass fall into Chews
Lane which has been closed. Lukes Lane has also been
closed for safety reasons.
In Marlborough, the Fire
Service has received over 20 calls from people reporting
fallen chimneys, there have been three grass fires sparked
by fallen power lines in the Seddon area, and near Ward
there has been a report of a house fallen slightly on its
piles.
There will be no further updates unless the
situation
changes.
