Life Flight Missions today - Sunday 15 september
At approximately midday this afternoon Life Flight was sent to A quad bike rollover in the Maungakotukutuku valley.
Life Flight responded in the Westpac rescue Helicopter with a Wellington Free Ambulance Intensive Care Paramedic onboard.
The man in his 20’s was injured after his Quad bike flipped.
The Helicopter landed in a paddock next to the injured man. He was assessed and treated on scene by WFA Paramedics and then flown to Wellington Hospitals Emergency Department to receive further treatment for serious injuries.
At 15:40 Life flight was sent to
a man in his 40’s who had sustained injuries after falling
off his mountain bike.
The man was located on the Makara
hills near Karori.
Due to the terrain landing was not
possible so the Life Flight team undertook a Winch to bring
to man on board the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
He was
then Transported to Wellington Hospitals Emergency
department to receive further treatment for lower leg
injuries.
