Notice of water shutdown in Tikipunga
Water supply to parts of Tikipunga will be shut down overnight on Monday 18 November from 10.30pm to 6am, and again on Tuesday 19 November from 10.30pm to 6am.
The work is being carried out on the corner of Corks Road and Paramount Parade; to allow a control chamber to be relocated making way for a new roundabout.
WDC Water Services Manager, Andrew Venmore said that the shutdown is being done overnight to minimise the impact on residents and businesses in Tikipunga.
“Everything going to plan there should be very little impact but we wanted to make sure people are aware of it - just in case there are any supply issues,” he said.
When the water comes back on, it may take a short amount of time to adjust the pressures correctly. Some people may experience slightly lower or slightly higher water pressure for a time in the morning.
Most areas will continue to receive some water, even if it is at a lower pressure than normal.
Streets that will be completely shut off will be notified by a letter drop.
If people need water desperately, Council will have a water carrier on standby and they should call Council on 09 430 4200.
