CTV News is now First At Five

CTV News is now First At Five

From Monday December 2, CTV is making important changes to its early evening programming schedule.

CTV News will now be broadcasting at 5pm to bring the important stories and daily developments across the region to residents earlier in the evening. The new time slot for news signals an exciting raft of changes that will be rolled out on CTV from early 2014.

Newly appointed General Manager Andrew Keeley believes the earlier time slot for news is an important milestone for the channel. “With so many key developments happening daily across the region, CTV is in a unique position to provide in-depth coverage of local news that’s more relevant and meaningful than it has been in the past. The recovery and transformation of Christchurch will not only be reflected in CTV News, but also in a number of new current affairs programmes in development, which will air on CTV early next year”.

The CTV daily news bulletin will be repeated later at 1830 and 2130. CTV’s daily magazine show Canterbury Life will broadcast at 1630, going straight into the evening news bulletin at its new time of 1700. Point of View, a new current affairs programme, will air on Tuesday 3 December at 2030, launching with an interview with new Mayor Lianne Dalziel from the Council Headquarters.

CTV News premiers at 1700, repeated at 1830 and 2130.

Canterbury life plays first at 1630, repeated and 2200 every weeknight and 1000 the next day.

Point Of view premieres Tuesday night at 2030, repeated on Wednesday at 1500 and Sunday at 2330.

CTV broadcasts on a variety of channels and frequencies:

Freeview|HD Channel 40, Igloo & TiVo Channel 40 and Vodafone InHome TV - Christchurch, Wellington, Kapiti, Channel 199.
