Council gives shoppers early Christmas present
Shoppers in central Whangarei will be given free parking on Christmas Eve day in central Whangarei.
The aim is to make Christmas shopping just that little bit less stressful for people caught up in the last minute dash.
Council has asked for staff working in the middle of town to join into the Christmas spirit and leave parking close to their workplace open for shoppers.
For those taking advantage of the free parking: Just remember that usual parking time limits will still apply, the aim is to make things easier for everyone to get in, find a place to park, do a quick shop and get away again.
Happy Christmas everyone!
