Car vs Van Crash Near Whakatane
This evening the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was called to a car vs van crash on SH30 near Whakatane. The car collided with the van as the van was turning right into a driveway, there were a total of 9 patients 3 of which were in a serious condition with various injuries. The helicopter flew an 18 year old Kawerau woman to Tauranga hospital with shoulder, neck and back injuries.
Her condition was described as moderate on arrival at Tauranga, the remaining patients were taken by St John ambulance to Whakatane hospital.
