Northpower – Easter storm ... Update 4
Northpower – Easter storm ... Update 4
17 April, 2014
The use of a helicopter has enabled Northpower to
find the cause of a fault on its 33kV line between
Maungaturoto and Kaiwaka.
Lines crews are currently on site and power should be restored to Kaiwaka by 1pm. Power is expected to be restored to Mangawhai shortly after – provided there are no further faults between Kaiwaka and Mangawhai.
Northpower staff on board the helicopter are now on route to Dargaville to assess damage to the 11kV Dargaville north line.
Meanwhile, power has been restored to thousands of Northpower customers in Whangarei and Kaipara, with most major outages now accounted for.
People should continue to report the potential cause of any power outages to the Northpower Faults line – 0800-10-40-40.
Members of the public are asked to remain clear of downed powerlines at all times, keep others clear and also keep animals away.
