Containers recovered from Wellington Harbour
CentrePort has worked with emergency services to successfully recover three empty shipping containers that were blown into Wellington Harbour by very strong winds this afternoon.
Winds in excess of 100 km/h caused problems across the country and hampered efforts to recover the containers.
CentrePort's tug boats and Maritime Police battled rough seas and very strong winds for several hours to safely retrieve the empty containers.
