City bridges unlikely to close
Gisborne city’s three bridges are definitely open and unlikely to be closed, Gisborne Civil Defence Emergency Controller Peter Higgs said this morning.
“While there have been some concerns about rising river levels on the East Coast, there are currently no issues with rivers in the city.”
The worst of ex-tropical cyclone Pam is expected to have past over the area by 4pm today.
