The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari welcomes Naenae Intermediate and Taita Central School
200
students from Naenae Intermediate and 170 students from
Taita Central School in Lower Hutt are visiting Wellington
Zoo this week as part of the Warehouse Wellington Zoofari
programme.
Groups from Naenae Intermediate will be in the Zoo on Tuesday 24 March and Wednesday 25 March, and students from Taita Central School will visit on Thursday 26 March and Friday 27 March.
The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari is a three-year partnership between Wellington Zoo and The Warehouse with the aim to help local low-decile schools experience conservation-based learning programmes at the Zoo.
The Warehouse’s Wellington region stores raised nearly $26,500 through in-store fundraising in September 2014 to cover the costs of school visits and transport to Wellington Zoo. Approximately 1,800 students from 13 schools from the Wellington and Tasman regions will take part in The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari this year.
NZ Bus supports the programme by providing discounted transport for participating schools to and from Wellington Zoo.
