Veterans to eat for free on ANZAC Day.
Auckland restaurant invites returned service men and women to eat for free on ANZAC Day.
ANZAC Day celebrates and honours those who have served New Zealand and Australia in military operations. This ANZAC Day Auckland restaurant Monsoon Poon is honouring returned servicemen and women who have served abroad by inviting them to enjoy a complimentary meal on Saturday 25th April.
“There are many New Zealanders who have served abroad and deserve our recognition, and we’d like to thank them, ” says Nicola Richards of Monsoon Poon Auckland.
After seeing a similar concept in the United states, Monsoon Poon Auckland brought the concept to New Zealand along with Wellington restaurants Monsoon Poon Wellington and Osteria del Toro.
“Many restaurants throughout the United States honour their service men and women in a similar style with ‘Veterans Dine for Free’. It has proven to be a well respected event, with a great response,” says Ms Richards.
This will be the fourth ANZAC Day we have made the offer to New Zealand service men and women who have served overseas on combat, combat-like or peace keeping, making or enforcement operations
“It’s been great to meet the returned service men and women who have come in for the complimentary meal over the past three years - and we hope to see more this year. It’s always been an honour for me and our team to serve them,” says Ms Richards.
Monsoon Poon Auckland is open at 5pm for dinner this ANZAC Day, Saturday 25th April.
Share this with every person you know who has served, and be sure to thank them.
