Halloween has gone to the dogs

The Hound Lounge HOWL-o-ween photo competition is now in its 4th year and from the submissions they’ve received so far, there’s going to be some stiff competition.

“The dogs love dressing up as it means even more attention and treats from their owners. It’s all in good fun and activities like these help to strengthen the bond between the dogs and their families”, says Hound Lounge owner, Michal McCracken.

From October 20th, photos of the dogs in their Howl-o-ween costumes will be on the Hound Lounge’s website: www.houndlounge.co.nz and voting for your favourite entrant will take place on their Facebook page, Hound Lounge Wellington https://www.facebook.com/Hound-Lounge-Wellington-139199749450754/?ref=hl

The two photos with the most “likes” at 5pm on October 30th will win a prize pack valued at $135.

McCracken warns that the costumes and chaos during Halloween can be a stressful time for dogs. “Keep dogs away from the front door if trick or treaters are in the area to avoid them getting worked up”, she says.
“Also keep dogs safe by not letting them eat any chocolate as this can be deadly”.

The Hound Lounge Dog Day-care in Miramar not only takes care of your dogs during the day but also offers pet sitting, dog walking and dog and puppy training classes.
