Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter missions
The Palmerston North based Rescue Helicopter flew a total of 7 missions during the period as follows;
Wed 21 An evening mission to Mangaweka for a toddler injured in a quad bike accident. She was airlifted, along with her mother, to Palmerston North Hospital.
Sat 24 A morning mission to Taihape for a baby girl with a medical emergency. She was airlifted, along with her mother, to Whanganui Hospital. Later that day the helicopter assisted Police in the search for 2 people missing after capsizing while canoeing the Whanganui river near Whakahoro. They were located and recovered by a jet boat also involved in the search.
Mon 26 A morning task to assist Police in the recovery of a body of a deceased tramper from the Ruahine Ranges. Later that evening the helicopter was tasked with an emergency maternity transfer from Palmerston North Hospital to Wellington Hospital.
Fri 30 An afternoon mission to Rangiwaea for a local woman in her 30's seriously injured falling from a horse. She was airlifted to Whanganui Hospital.
Sat 31 A very early morning NVG missing to Taoroa Junction for a woman in her 20’s with a medical emergency. She was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
