The St.
James Theatre is not saved yet. But it can be, with your
help.
In March 2016 the doors of the St. James Theatre, Auckland will close again to begin much needed work on the theatre.
Auckland Council have recently announced a generous contribution towards the St James, this will be used to strengthen her and make her safe. (This along with a large generous contribution from the owners).
But this won't be enough to see her fully restored, so at this stage, the doors to the grand old lady will likely stay closed.
To keep the doors open, a further contribution is needed from other parties including central government. Auckland council have committed to the project but the government as yet have not. That's why we need to focus on not just saving her, but restoring her in full so the doors to the St James can remain open permanently.
Save Our St. James is a chance for media and supporters, those that talk, tweet & post to see and hear what is really happening with the St. James Theatre. You'll have a chance to see the true state the venue is in and how much work needs to be done, while enjoying great music, great drinks and great company.
Then we can start applying pressure to those that make the decisions to give that final yes and get the opening of her doors permanently over the finish line.
Entertainment on
the night includes,
• Tina Turntables
• Hopetoun
Brown
• Tami Neilson
• Lawrence Arabia with
Strings
• VOOM
• & Special Guests
We look forward to seeing you there!
