Injured Tramper
Injured Tramper
The Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to The Kaimai Range's near the settlement of TePoi at 6:30 pmwhere a 17 year old female tramper from a scout group had tripped on a tree root and badly injured her lower leg. A Landsar team carried her to a place where the helicopter could land. St John paramedics stabilised her at the scene before being flown to Tauranga hospital for further treatment. The helicopter was called due to the terrain and time to get her to hospital.
Philips Search and Rescue Trust is a charitable organisation, operating rescue helicopters throughout the Central North Island. Philips Search and Rescue Trust relies on support from principal sponsors and community donations. Special thanks to Tauranga’s principal sponsors, Trustpower and TECT. This crucial financial support ensures our rescue helicopters can continue to bring life-saving equipment, rescue personnel and trauma-trained medics directly to the patient.
