The sensibility of improvisation
The sensibility of improvisation
Let's be Sense-able ... how many times has your Mum said that to you? Off the Cuff will have a little bit of sense, a little bit of sensibility and a lot of laughs at this months' improv show at the Theatre Royal. “Who knows, we may sense a murder, display some common sense, suffer from sensory overload or simply show our sensitive side”, says artistic director Laura Irish.
Off the Cuff is the Nelson’s newest improvisation offering by Down With Mondays’ Laura Irish and Jim Risner. The monthly improvisation shows aim to go beyond what people normally expect from improvisation.
Hot on the heels of the Fringe Festival, the Off the Cuff improvisers will have lots of new skills, tips and tricks up their sleeves having had the opportunity to train with guest international improvisers who, along with their shows, also ran a number of workshops. “We are always looking for opportunities to expand our horizons”, said Irish, “so we relished the opportunity of training alongside some of Australasia’s top improvisers”.
Off the Cuff : Let's be Sense-able is on this Friday 13 May at the Theatre Royal starting at 7.30pm.
