Gavin Welsh to Run for Kapiti Mayor
Gavin Welsh has announced his intention to run for Mayor of the Kapiti Coast in this year's local body elections.
Currently the Chair of the Corporate Business Committee, the Audit and Risk Subcommittee, and the Economic Development Leadership Forum, Cr. Welsh said his announcement marked the beginning of a strong and determined campaign to guide the Kapiti Coast into a vibrant, prosperous, and exciting future; built on a strong local economy and efficient public services.
"I look forward to providing effective leadership, fit for the 21st Century. Leading a united, forward focused Council; which on behalf of the community, will make the very best of the opportunities that lie ahead," said Cr. Welsh.
"I'm extremely fortunate to have a very capable and experienced team alongside me. We have put together a modern, energetic campaign and we're raring to go" he said.
"I have a vision for the future, and a plan to take us there. I look forward to sharing that vision with the community in the months ahead."
