Fifteenth home for Freedom Furniture

Fifteenth home for Freedom Furniture

Freedom Furniture is expanding its New Zealand foothold with the launch of a West Auckland store within the new ‘Westgate Lifestyle Centre’ that opened 5th July at Westgate.

Following a trial pop-up store in the Westgate complex throughout 2015 that saw record sales compared to store size, Freedom Furniture has identified an audience receptive to its offering and ultimately, a market looking to be serviced.

Opened on July 5th, the store will be Freedom Furniture’s fifteenth in the country and will add another 20 employees to its 300-strong Freedom family, with further store expansions planned for the future.

The 1,700 square metre store will be located in Westgate’s second stage development of retailers, sitting in good company with other household names including Harvey Norman, Rebel Sport and Briscoe’s.

Debbie Ridling, Managing Director of Freedom Furniture NZ, is thrilled to be expanding the Freedom offering to more Kiwis and joining what has been dubbed a new town in its own right.

“This development is expected to become one of Auckland’s top metropolitan shopping areas and it’s natural for us to want to be a part of that. Growth is always exciting and we love that we are now able to service more customers in areas we previously couldn’t,” says Debbie.

“We take learnings from each store, ultimately optimising the floor space and how we use that each time,” says Debbie.

The Westgate store will have a smaller footprint than other Auckland stores, however the format and layout will still mean the full Freedom product range including its Best Buys pieces (the furniture and big ticket items that have been identified as trans-seasonal and are offered at everyday low prices) as well as its recently launched mattress selection.

“The store is visually stunning and will promise to be a fantastic experience for customers. We have great window shop frontage with floor to ceiling windows and know that customers who walk through our doors can expect the same great Freedom experience that comes from 22 years of servicing the country,” says Debbie.
