The Wellington region’s arts community has seen a mammoth month for funding from the Wellington Community Trust.
A total of $111,000 has been granted across 8 arts organisations. These include Everybody Cool Lives Here, Arts Access Aotearoa, Orchestra Wellington, Te Rākau Theatre, Wellington District Brass Band, the NZSO, Barber Shop NZ and Creative Capital Arts Trust – which has enjoyed a bumper month being the winner in the arts & culture category, and the supreme winner of the Wellington City Community Awards for its CubaDupa festival.
Chief Executive Mark Cassidy says: “We’re delighted to be able to continue supporting the incredible arts organisations we’re so fortunate to have in our region. We are particularly pleased to be able to provide funding to organisations that make the diverse and rich arts and cultural scene we have here accessible to a such a broad audience and range of performers. We offer our congratulations to The Creative Capital Arts Trust for being judged the supreme winner of the Wellington City – Wellington Airport Community Awards for its CubaDupa festival.”
