The Rimutaka Crossing - One Year On

South Wairarapa District Mayor Adrienne Staples and Upper Hutt City Council Paul Lambert both took part in the re-enacted Rimutaka Crossing on 27 September 2015 which marked the centenary of the Great War and the routes troops took marching from Featherston to Trentham Camp, Upper Hutt. Last Sunday 25 September both Adrienne and Paul returned to be part of the first anniversary of the event and further recognise the stunning memorial now in place at the Rimutaka Hill Summit at the boundary of Featherston and Upper Hutt. A book "The Long, Long Trai" by Neil Frances records the related history.
